Immersive Meeting Rooms

Working with a large global organisation, 1plex were asked to help with a new video conferencing set up having identified the shortcomings of the current system.

A global pharmaceutical organisation with 10,000 + employees.

Our client required an effective video communication tool to be able to keep their global teams connected. Not only that, they wanted the video experience to be equivalent to meeting face-to-face or the absolute next best. They were keen to keep travel to a minimum not only because of the cost but because they value the health and wellbeing of their staff and the planet.

The old system had been effective, but it was only being used between two identical meeting rooms and didn’t integrate with MS Teams. They were looking for a company to deliver a better solution that could be replicated in any location, and who could provide support and technical expertise as necessary.


1plex identified the short comings of the current video conferencing set up.

Following this report 1plex provided an alternative design that came in not only at a lower cost, but also would give out client much greater functionality and be fully operational with MS Teams.

Working closely with their industry partners to get best in class technology, 1plex designed the meeting system and built a proof-of-concept in their offices in Cambridge UK. This enabled 1plex to iron out any issues, test equipment and finalise a design they knew would work in Atlanta and Brussels, where it was needed to be deployed. 1plex worked with a local AV installation company in Atlanta, USA sending over their own expert to oversee the full meeting room integration. In Brussels 1plex supplied their own team for the installation. For 1plex the immersive experience is not just about the technology it is also about the environment and atmosphere, so working with a 3rd party furniture designer they were able to provide lighting, furniture, and acoustics to suit the meeting room technology employed.


Our client now have a new standard for immersive meeting rooms that they can now replicate across their organisation.

Being an MS Teams based company it was crucial that the new solution would be fully integrated to their existing systems. 1plex provides regular reports  to demonstrate return on investment with this class of solution. The new meeting rooms have resulted in a reduction in air travel for employees, saving money and reducing their carbon footprint. 1plex provide proactive support and are on hand to roll out the solution to other offices across the world.
